Christine Manfield, one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs, is hosting a fundraiser dinner at Jaan Bai. For a night not to be missed, she will prepare an incredible five-course tasting menu, featuring her inventive flavours and signature style, in collaboration with the Jaan Bai kitchen team.
The proceeds from the event will go directly to Jaan Bai’s Youth Empowerment Scholarship Fund, a special fund to unlock the tremendous potential of Cambodian youth by providing professional development opportunities to further their career in hospitality. In preparation for the event, the Jaan Bai kitchen team also receive world-class training and mentoring from Christine Manfield herself.
The night will make a lasting impact on guests and on the Cambodian young people the fundraising supports.
About Jaan Bai Restaurant
Jaan Bai, meaning “rice bowl” in Khmer, is a social enterprise restaurant initiative of the Cambodian Children’s Trust and the Feel Good Coffee Group.
It provides skills development and employment for Cambodian youth, with a share of profits going towards supporting CCT’s child protection and community development work.
About Christine Manfield
Christine Manfield is one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs – a curious cook and a perfectionist inspired by the culinary melting pot of global flavours.

Her diverse work portfolio includes mentoring and collaborating with chefs and industry colleagues, hosting pop-up events in Australia and overseas, national judge for the Delicious Produce Awards and the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Young Restaurateur Awards and Brand Ambassador for Byron Bay Cookies – developing new flavours to broaden their range and profile.
She is also Food Director at Pearl Catering with a strong commitment to creative innovation and excellence.
A love of spices and an understanding of the home cook’s need for authentically-flavoured, simple, sustaining food led Christine to develop the Christine Manfield Spice Collection range of spice pastes and condiments – widely available at retail stores throughout Australia (since 1999).
An inveterate traveller, Christine continues to broaden her global interests, hosting bespoke gastronomic tours to exotic destinations including India, Africa, Bhutan, France, SE Asia, Italy, South America and Tasmania.
Giving back is an integral part of Christine’s work portfolio and she lends her support to a few nominated charities with an educational focus.
