Tara's surprise :)
I write this after receiving one of the nicest surprises of my life.
This year it's become increasingly necessary for me to spend time in Australia raising the funds CCT needs to look after the kids and families. There's so much I miss about Cambodia while I'm away. I miss the warm weather. I miss the friendly greetings and smiles from the locals. I miss speaking Khmer. I miss the coconuts, mangoes, and grilled bananas. I miss my dogs a lot. But, mostly, I miss the kids.
People often tell me how lucky the kids are to have met me, but the truth is, it goes both ways. The bond we share helps get me out of bed in the morning, and got me through many a hard time. It makes me strive to be the best person I can be.
I'm so very lucky to be surrounded by so much love. This surprise is a testament to that.
