We will set up an eco-establishment in which qualified professionals can come to live and work at CCT to ensure the children have the opportunities they need to realise their full potential.

Eco Village Sustainable Housing & Development
We’ve been able to integrate a number of environmental technologies to custom design a model that would provide this orphanage with the ability to sustain itself. This self-sustainability would not be merely at subsistence level, but at a level that would provide excellent living conditions, personal development skills and futures for the children, as well as job creation and health facilities for the surrounding community

Agricultural Development

Our first stage is for CCT to purchase a 200-hectare block of land and establish a plantation. A 100-hectare plantation requiring 25 local laborers and the other 100-hectares will be used to grow fruits and vegetables to sell within Cambodia. Each 100-hectares will be supervised by a plantation manger, to maintain the required
productivity. The children will be encouraged to assist with the land management as part of their education.

Medical/Dental Clinic
We will build an onsite medical clinic to provide the basic necessities for medical check ups, vaccinations, common ailments as well as emergencies and dental facilities. With support from Doctors and Nurses all around the world, including local professionals, we will set up a programme to look after all health needs for our children and community members.

Permaculture and Kitchen Garden
A permaculture garden of fruit, vegetables and herbs will be set up within the village to educate the children about how to live sustainably. The children will learn to care for the garden and how to produce their own food. They will then develop a healthy respect for the land and how it affects their wellbeing. This will be implemented as an additional class outside of their schooling, so all children can attend and learn.  PLANT, GROW, NURTURE, HARVEST, COOK, EAT!

Horsemanship Programme
We will establish a pony club with an extensive rehabilitation programme. By interacting with horses, the children will develop skills in horsemanship while improving self-confidence, communication and trust with the horses and each other. They’ll be taught using compassionate methods to care for, ride and handle horses on a daily basis. This programme will endeavour to promote responsible behaviours, foster a connection to nature, teach respect for other living things and provide endless opportunities for learning life lessons.

Community Outreach Programme

A centre for impoverished children will always have a limit to the number of children it can house and provide care, support, relief and opportunities for a better life. So, unfortunately, there are many children in Cambodia who are in great need of help but will not receive it from NGOs. Many children’s centres in Cambodia often take in children who are not orphans in the traditional sense of the word. They often come from families who are simply too poor to support their children for even for such basic needs as food, satisfactory shelter, medical needs or any form of education. These children are often made to work to help support their family. There is no question though that if children are safe, they are always better off staying with their families. CCT will be developing an outreach programme for such cases to provide these children with the support they need whilst enabling them to stay with their families. CCT will provide a small outreach house in the province and assist the family with, basic living needs and initial support for food and school fees. The families will then be able to visit the outreach house where a nurse will provide medical support to the whole family, and children can attend English lessons. Parents will be offered vocational training workshops with view to eventually enabling them to have enough income to support their family.

Hospitality Programme
Our plans include a restaurant /training school creating skilled employment for the children. The restaurant will target the tourist market and set a new standard for restaurants in the region. There’ll be (an) opportunities for the children to gain many skills, as our restaurant will need chefs, kitchen staff, waiters as well as marketing and management.

The permaculture and kitchen gardens will provide much of the produce. It is hoped that the restaurant will be a viable entity contributing to the overall sustainability of the orphanage.

Onsite accommodation
We intend to create quality onsite accommodation within our Eco Village for volunteers and tourists.

Animal Doctors
We can’t forget about our furry friends around Battambang who are also in great need of care. CCT will develop a program to vaccinate, treat, and de-sex local animals. Many infected and diseased animals are interacting with the children, which presents a real health risk. Healthy and happy animals will in turn benefit the wider community.
